Amsterdam
is home to a large number of shops and shopping complexes. Shopping
can be a real fun activity in the City and apart from clothes you
can also find craft items, memorabilia, art and quality second
hand stuff.
The Magna Plaza Shopping Centre: this
shopping complex occupies four floors and has a range of shops
selling the latest in designer fashion, cosmetics and gift
items.
The complex is open every day of the week and
Thursday which is late night shopping it stays open until
9 pm. The Complex is located at the corner of Spuistraat and
Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal near the Royal Palace and you can
get there by using the City’s tram service.
Albert Cuyp: this is a busy
outdoor market with hundreds of stalls selling fresh vegetable,
fruit and livestock products.
Nieuwedijk-Kalverstraat: a pedestrian
zone within the CBD, here you will find a concentration of
shops including; sports stores, gift shops, clothing and perfumes.
There are also a number of restaurants and cafes.
