The Danube River:

You can visit the famous Danube River which passes through the City of Vienna. You can hire a boat or board a river cruise and take in the amazing scenery, ski or even ice skate in winter. Another highlight of the river in Vienna is the Danube Island; an artificial land mass which is a haven for outdoor sporting and recreational activities including; cycling, jogging, walking, barbeque areas, sporting facilities, beach volleyball.

Other facilities and services on the island include; pubs, restaurants, cafes, boat and bike hire. The island was constructed originally as a flood protection area covering 21 km.

The River:

The Danube River is the second longest river on the European Continent after the Volga River rising from the Black Forest in the Southwest of Germany emptying into the Black Sea. The Danube River in Vienna and Austria is under the jurisdiction of the Donau Auen National Park.

The Danube Tower:
The tower standing at about 826 feet high, this tower features a revolving restaurant and a watching deck at its top.

The Prater:

An amusement and recreational park, the Prater is another true icon of Vienna. The Park features a number of attractions including; water slides, roller coasters, pubs and restaurants. The main highlight of the park is the Reisenrad; a large Ferris wheel built in the late 19th Century. Entrance to the park is free.
