Forchtenstein:
Forchtenstein is one of Austria’s impressive
Castles situated about 20 km south of Eisenstadt in the State
of Burgenland. The Castle was built after the town’s
original fortress was destroyed in the late 13th Century.
The Castle played an important role in defending
against Turkish Invasion and is easily visible from its location
high on a rock base. Today it is a museum and is open to the
public and features a large collection of; ancient art, craft,
furniture and artillery.
