Heidenreichstein:
Situated in the Austrian State of Lower Austria,
Heidenreichstein is a small town with a population of just
about 4,565 people. The town is approximately 800 years old
being established in the early 1200.
Its early development was based on its main
landmark, the Heidenreichstein Castle. The
Castle is as old as the town and is an impressive building
that has managed to stand the test of time and is regarded
as the most beautiful moated Castle in the Country. The castle
now has a museum inside and is open to the public.
This slow paced Country town is easily reachable
by road from Vienna. You can travel using a regular public
bus service. There are a number of good hotels in Heidenreichstein
such as the Rasthof Stefanie Hotel. Though not as visited as
other leading village destinations in the Austrian Countryside,
Heidenreichstein offers a unique worthwhile attraction.
