Innsbruck
is a city in the central Austrian State of Tyrol. The City is known
for being a winter sporting haven having hosted the winter Olympics
in 1964 and 1976. Innsbruck is also the administrative Capital
of Tyrol State. The City is home to an estimated 140,000 residents.
Innsbruck has a healthy tourism industry which
attracts many tourists to this town’s Ski Resorts situated
on the outskirts in the nearby Alps Mountain ranges. Popular
ski and snowboarding areas are; Igls, Tulfes, Hungerburg,
Axamer Lizum, Mutters and the Stubai Glacier.

Innsbruck’s old town, this golden plated roof is one
of the City’s landmarks constructed during the reign
of Emperor Maximilian I.

The Innsbruck airport is the largest in the State
and is usually at its busiest during the peak winter tourism
period. The airport caters mainly for domestic flights though
recently regular scheduled flights have been operating between
Innsbruck and; London, Frankfurt and Gothenburg.
