Listed
by UNESCO as a world heritage site, the Schonbrunn Palace is a
magnificent building that features baroque architecture. The palace
was built during the reign of Emperor Leopold I of the Roman Empire.
The palace and its parks were opened to the public in the 1960s
and over recent years has steadily attracted visitors in their
millions each year.
The palace has been well maintained with a number
of repair works being carried out in recent years. Many of
the Palace’s over 1,000 rooms are still in the original
condition featuring a remarkable display of artworks and
furniture used by its occupants over a century ago.
The Schonbrunn Park:
The Schonbrunn Park is another major highlight
for visitors here. The park covers an estimated 1square kilometers
and features a wide range of attractions including; a botanic
garden, fountains and a maze.
The Tiergarten Schonbrunn: regarded as one of
the oldest zoos in the world, the Tiergarten was established
in 1752 and features; a simulated rain forest, Giant Pandas,
Koalas, Crocodiles, Elephant and a large number of bird and
