Constructed
in 1147 AD, this Cathedral is a major landmark in the City and
was for a while regarded as the tallest building in Europe with
its southern tower standing at a height of 137 meters.
This prominent Gothic building that stands out
from surrounding typical historic buildings in Vienna is open
to the public for guided and self-guided tours seven days a
week. Guided tours cost about 4.90 euros. The Cathedral features
an amazing range of art works and furniture including the pulpit
which created in the 16th Century by Anton Pilgram.
One of the main attractions of the Cathedral
is the taking the stairs up the tower. At the top you can enjoy
some magnificent views of Vienna.
