The
Vienna International Airport is the main air-gateway into Austria
and the busiest airport in the Country. The airport has two terminals
situated within the main building. A third terminal is currently
under construction to cope with forecast increase in passengers
using the airport within the next few years. The airport is the
main hub of Austrian Airlines which is the Country’s flag
carrier.
The airport is situated approximately 18 km to
the southeast of the Vienna City Centre near the town of Schwechat.
The airport is linked to Vienna via a rail service known as
the City Airport Train which operates from the Wien-Mitte interchange.
There are also public buses, taxis and shuttle services operating
from the airport.
