Regarded
as the oldest amusement park in the world, Bakken is one of the
many major tourist attractions for Copenhagen’s visitors
and locals alike. The park was started in 1583 when a lady known
as Kirsten Piil discovered
a fresh water spring in the area. This spring began to draw crowds
of locals especially during the months of summer. Today, Bakken
attracts over 2 million visitors annually.
Attractions:
One of the main attractions at Bakken is the
roller coaster opened in 1932. The park also has a number of
other rides, restaurants, hundreds of gaming machines, a circus,
pubs, performing bands and live cabaret. There is also a visitor
information desk and banking facilities.
Opening hours may vary at different times of
