Bakken:

Regarded as the oldest amusement park in the world, Bakken is one of the many major tourist attractions for Copenhagen’s visitors and locals alike. The park was started in 1583 when a lady known as Kirsten Piil discovered a fresh water spring in the area. This spring began to draw crowds of locals especially during the months of summer. Today, Bakken attracts over 2 million visitors annually.

Attractions:

One of the main attractions at Bakken is the roller coaster opened in 1932. The park also has a number of other rides, restaurants, hundreds of gaming machines, a circus, pubs, performing bands and live cabaret. There is also a visitor information desk and banking facilities.

Opening hours may vary at different times of the year and entrance to the park is free. For more information on opening hours and events happening at Bakken you can visit the park’s website at: http://www.bakken.dk/
