The
2nd largest City in Spain after Madrid, Barcelona holds its own
as one of the major cities in the Country being an important tourism
destination and an important centre for commerce. Barcelona is
the administrative capital of Catalonia and has a population of
about 1.6 million residents.

Barcelona is also an important sporting city
having hosted the 1992 Olympic Games. The City is home to
FC Barcelona a leading soccer club both in Spain and Europe.

club’s home ground is the 100,000 seat Nou Camp Stadium.
The City also has a range of sporting facilities many revamped
or built for the Olympics.
Museums: important museums in the City include;
