Berlin
has a large number of museums and art galleries (more than 160)
displaying various aspects of the Country’s history. Some
museums also hold exhibitions on international art works and collections.
German Historical Museum: dedicated
to the history of the Country, the museum is situated at
Unter den Linden 2, this museum is situated in the historic Zeughaus
building opened in 1730. The museum’s permanent collection
features art, craft, photos and a section dedicated to military
history.
German Museum of Technology:
opened in 1982, the museum houses a large collection on the
development of various technologies such as; aviation, electronics,
automobiles and locomotives.
The Allied Museum: this museum
houses a permanent collection based on military weapons, documents
and many other items left by the Allied forces since their
arrival in Berlin at the end of the 2nd World War.
The Jewish Museum: this museum
is dedicated to the history and existence of the Jewish people
in Germany for more than 2,000 years. The museum’s
permanent collection features; photos, art, craft and literature.
The
museum also hosts lectures, workshops and special exhibitions.
The Film Museum of Germany:
an interesting place to visit, this museum is dedicated to
the development of television and film in Germany.
