parts of Denmark have for over a century had prominent tourism
industries. The Country has a variety of attractions including
its famous theme parks, museums, monuments, architecture and historic
ruins and beaches. Its cities are vibrant are home to a variety
of restaurants, theatres, pubs, shops and host a number of cultural
events each year. The tourism industry in the Country is the domain

The Tivoli Gardens:
The Tivoli Gardens is one of the oldest surviving amusement
parks in the world having been opened in 1843. The park is a
major tourist attraction for visitors to the Danish Capital;
Copenhagen, located in the City’s Centre. The park hosts
a number of music concerts at its concert hall and has a Pantomime
theatre and the Tivoli Big Band an orchestra providing entertainment
for the park’s visitors.
Bakken:
Regarded as the oldest amusement park in the world, Bakken is
one of the many major tourist attractions for Copenhagen’s
visitors and locals alike. The park was started in 1583 when
a lady known as Kirsten Piil discovered a fresh water spring
in the area. This spring began to draw crowds of locals especially
during the months of summer. Today, Bakken attracts over 2
million visitors annually.
Legoland:
A heaven for children and the young at heart, Legoland is a
major tourism attraction for visitors to Denmark. The park is
the oldest of the Legoland parks being opened in 1968 and is
completely constructed using Lego. Other parks can be found at
Windsor in England, California USA, and Gunzburg in Germany.
Bornholm:
Bornholm is the name of a Danish island in the Baltic Sea which
is also one of the Country’s municipalities. The island
is a tourist attraction offering a genuine retreat for many
local and foreign holidaymakers.
