Situated
at the Centre of the Country’s east coast, Dublin is the
Capital and the largest City in Ireland. It has a population of
about 0.5 million people. Dublin has for decades gained fame for
being the birthplace of Guinness beer. As a result, the Guinness
Storehouse is one of the main tourism attractions in the City.
The Storehouse is situated at St James’s Gate.
Dublin is also an entertaining city. There are a number of very
popular night clubs and pubs here. There are restaurants, shops,
cafes and a number of museums and art galleries.
The Dublin Castle: one of the City’s landmarks, the Castle’s
construction started in 1204 and it was finished in 1230. The
Castle is situated at the Centre of the old section of Dublin.
The Dublin Zoo: established in 1830, a visit to this friendly
zoo is a good day time leisure activity.
National Museum of Ireland: this museum houses a collection
on various facets of the Country’s history.
The Dublin International Airport:
The main airport in Ireland and one of the busiest in Europe,
the Dublin International is the main hub for Aer Lingus which
is the national Irish Airline. The airport has had to undergo
extensive reorganization and expansion in recent years to cope
with increases in passenger numbers.
