Edinburgh
has a population of about 453,000 people and is the 2nd most populous
City in Scotland after Glasgow. The City is one of the main tourism
destinations in the United Kingdom famous for its festivals such
as the Edinburgh International Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe.
These festivals are the highlight of the City’s tourism industry

Festivals in Edinburgh:
The Edinburgh International Festival: the largest festival held
in the City, it features an array of entertainment including;
music and performing arts. The festival is usually held during
the months of summer, lasting about three weeks. Performances
are held at a number of venues within the City.
The Edinburgh Fringe: the largest arts festival in the world,
the Fringe features standup comedian acts and theatre and is
a world famous festival.
Edinburgh is home to a number of art galleries and museums.
The City is also an important educational centre being home to
the University of Edinburgh.
Edinburgh International Airport: situated about 14 km from the
City Centre, this airport handles a number of scheduled international
flights to major European Cities. The airport is linked to the
City centre by frequent buses and taxis. There are also a number
