Probably
the most popular landmark in Paris and as famous as the Statue
of Liberty in New York, the Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 and
was so named after its key architect Gustave Eiffel. A holiday
in Paris would not be considered complete unless one visits the
tower. The tower stands at a height of 986 feet and is the tallest
structure in Paris. The tower is made of iron bars joined together.
The Eiffel tower is a major vantage point from where you can enjoy
an aerial view of the City. Guided tours in English and French
are available for visitors.
The tower is open to the public all year round and an elevator
trip to the top would cost 11 Euros per adult. The tower also
houses two restaurants. Altituted 95 which is located on the
1st floor and the Le Jules Verne a top of the range eatery on
the 2nd floor.
