The
Flemish Coast in Belgium is a coastal plain that stretches a length
of 67 km from the town of De Panne to Knokke Heist in the Flanders
region. The coast features sandy beaches and sand dunes which coupled
with favorable weather conditions during the summer attract large
numbers of local and foreign visitors to its many seaside resorts.
People visit the coast to relax or indulge in a variety of water
sports like surfing and waterskiing. There is a selection of hotels,
holiday villas and apartments which provide accommodation for holiday
makers. For recreation and entertainment, the area has the largest
Casino in Europe at Ostend, restaurants, museums and theme parks.

Situated in De Panne, Plopsaland is a fantasy children’s
theme park and a great place to take the kids for a day out.
Towns along the coast:
De Panne: this town lays claim to the widest beach area along
the coast. It is home to a number of holiday resorts and hotels
and it is here that most tourists head to.
Ostend: this small City’s history dates back to 1265 where
a small village settlement had flourished and was in this year
that Ostend was granted City Status. The City is home to a
selection of restaurants serving local Belgian cuisine, shops,
a casino
and museums.
Knokke-Heist: this small and entertaining town features; a magnificent
beach area, casino, shopping area and five beachside resorts.
