Georgia:
A
former Soviet State, Georgia attained its independence following
the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991. The Country is
situated in the Southwest of the Asian Continent off the Black
Sea, to the south of Russia and north of Turkey. A small country,
Georgia has a population of about 4.7 million people. Georgian
is the national language though Russian and Armenian are also widely
spoken.
Tbilisi:
Tbilisi is the Capital and largest City of Georgia. The City
is home to a number of historic buildings such as the Anchiskhati
Church and the Narikala Fortress. The city is also home to a
number of museums and galleries. Tbilisi is home to a number
of the best hotels in Georgia such as; the Marriott Hotel Tbilisi,
Villa Berika, Courtyard by Marriott Tbilisi and the Sheraton
Metechi Palace Hotel.
The Tbilisi Airport:
The Tbilisi International Airport is the key airport in Georgia,
home to local airline Georgian Airways. Other airlines operating
from here include; Aeroflot, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and
KLM.
