leading European power and one of the most industrialized nations
in the world, Germany has made major strides in development and
economic recovery since the end of the 2nd World War. The Country
has also managed a smooth transition since its reunification following
the collapse of the “Berlin Wall”. Germany is one of
the key members of the European Union and a member of NATO. The
Country has adopted the Euro as its official currency replacing
the former Deutsch Mark.
Germany is a central European Country off the Baltic Sea. Its
bordered to its east by Poland, the Czech Republic and Austria.
To the west is the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
Berlin:
Berlin is the Capital City of Germany, a status it has held
since 1990 when East and West Germany were reunited. The City
has a population of 3.4 million residents and is the largest
in the Country. Berlin is a leading tourist destination for visitors
to the Country. The city has a host of entertainment options,
shopping facilities, sports, recreational facilities, monuments
and historical sights.
Munich:
Munich is the Capital of the federal state of Bavaria, a prosperous
region of Germany and an economic stronghold. The City is one
of the largest in the Country with a population of about 1.2
million. Munich has always been integral in local history since
its founding in 1158. The City became the capital of the Bavarian
Kingdom in the 16th Century.
Frankfurt:
Home to one of the busiest airports in Europe, Frankfurt is
another of Germany’s key cities. The City has a host
of tourist attractions and is a key financial centre for Germany
and Europe.
