Ireland:
The
Republic of Ireland occupies five-sixths of the Island of Ireland
which is situated in the North Atlantic Ocean. Ireland is an independent
nation and the remaining part of the island is occupied by Northern
Ireland which is part of the United Kingdom. The Country is a member
of the European Union and has adopted the Euro as its official
currency.
The Country gained its independence from the
UK in 1921. Ireland is a small nation; its population is estimated
at about
4 million. The Country is becoming a popular holiday destination
for many. Ireland is fast becoming a top spot for golf vacations.
The Country also has a number of nature reserves, entertaining
cities and its waters are populated with marine wildlife.
Dublin:
Situated at the Centre of the Country’s east coast, Dublin
is the Capital and the largest City in Ireland. The City has
for decades gained fame for being the birthplace of Guinness
beer. As a result, the Guinness Storehouse is one of the main
tourism attractions in the City. The Storehouse is situated at
St James’s Gate.
Cork City: Ireland’s second city, Cork is home to one
of the largest natural harbours in the world.
