The
Isle of Wight is a small English Island about 4 km south of the
port city of Southampton. The Isle is a popular attraction that
grew in prominence during the reign of Queen Victoria who had a
preference for Wight as a holiday resort. The island’s economy
relies mainly on tourism with visitors consisting mainly of people
from the United Kingdom. The Isle is home to a number of interesting
places to visit and during summer, favorable weather conditions
make its sandy beaches and resorts an ideal place to relax. Popular
beaches are; Compton Bay, Colwell Bay, Sandown Beach, Shanklin
Beach and Yaverland Beach.
