The
Jewish Museum of Belgium is a testament to the Jewish People of
Belgium over the last two centuries including their history and
culture. The Jewish population in the Country suffered greatly
during the holocaust as the Country was invaded by the Germans
in the 2nd World War. Many Jews in the Country lost their lives
or were sent to concentration camps. After the war, the Jewish
Community in the Country set about re-establishing itself.
The Museum’s permanent collection features artworks by
prominent Jewish artists, Photos portraying the Jewish way
of life in Belgium, music, an archival collection and six libraries.
In 2004, the museum relocated to its present address at 21 Rue
des Minimes. The museum is opened from Sunday till Friday between
10am and 5pm and is closed on Saturdays. Further information
