Kensington Palace:
Once
home for Princess Diana, Kensington Palace was used as residential
quarters for the Country’s rulers until 1760. It has since
then been used as then been used as a residency for members of
the royal family.
Today the palace is under the management of
the Historic Royal Palaces which also runs Hampton Court and
the Tower
of London. The Palace is open at specific times for public
tours. Here you can view the Statue of King William
III who
was the Palace’s
first occupant and a Statue of Queen Victoria. You can also view
the palace’s rooms and gardens and relieve the royal history
of its past occupants.
Beginning on the 24th of November 2005 until 1st of July 2007,
the Palace will host an exhibition dedicated to Princess Diana.
The exhibition features photos of the princess and some of her
best garments.
Adult admission into the Palace costs 11.50 Pounds though group
bookings are available. Kensington is open to the public generally
between 10 am and 5 pm seven days a week. The palace has a small
shop where you can purchase souvenirs or gift items.
