Part
of the Dodecanese Group of Islands, Kos is another of Greece’s
popular holiday islands. The island has a strong tourism economy.
Visitors come here to enjoy the Island’s beaches and resorts
that line the beach areas. Similar to other Greek Islands, Kos
has a long been a part of local history since 366 BC when a village
settlement was built here. The island became part of Greece in
1947. The small town of Kos is the sole urban centre on the island
and the main tourism domain. A number of hotels and resorts are
based in or near the town and here you will find a variety of recreation
and entertainment options.

Looking for places to visit? Kos has a number of historic sites
such as the Knight’s Castle, the Archaeological Museum,
restaurants and cafes. There is a very popular open air nightclub
in the town of Kos. Beaches here include; the Kos Town Beach,
Kardamena, Tigaki, Kefalos beach and Mastichari beach.
Kos Island International Airport: Aegean Airlines and Olympic
Airlines conduct regular flights from the Athens International
Airport to Kos. The airport receives mainly domestic flights
from these two airlines and charter flights.
