Notre Dame Cathedral and
Towers:
One of Paris’s landmarks, the Notre Dame features Gothic
architecture and was built during the Gothic era with its construction
done in a number of phases beginning in 1163. In 1991, the building
underwent major rehabilitation which was to last a decade. Since
its humble beginnings, the Cathedral has been integral to the religious
history of Paris. In 1980, Pope John Paul conducted a mass from
the front of the Cathedral.
The Cathedral is open to the public for mass and guided tours.
Six masses are held here on Sunday. The Cathedral is open for
visits daily between 7.45 am and 6.45 pm. For more information
