Another
of Edinburgh’s tourist attractions, the Royal Botanic Garden
is home to a large selection of plants from different parts of
the world, many growing in controlled climatic conditions.
How to get there: The garden is situated at Inverleith about
2 km from the city centre. Local buses provide frequent transport
to and from the gardens. There are no charges for visiting the
gardens, though you will have to pay before entering the glass
houses.
It costs 3.50 pounds for an adult. There is also a small cafeteria
and gift shop selling souvenir items and plants. Guided tours
are also offered and popular attractions include the palm house,
the plants & people house and the wet tropics house.
