and major industries in the Country include; ship building,
motor
vehicles, food processing, tourism and textiles. The Country
has a parliamentary
monarchy form of government currently under King Juan
Carlos I. Parliamentary elections are held every four years and the
leader
of the winning party is usually endorsed as president by the
monarchy.
Madrid:
Madrid is an historic Spanish City situated in a province with
the same name in central Spain. The City dates back to the 9th
Century and the City developed as a centre of power and government.
Madrid is now the Capital and largest City of Spain and is an
important centre for culture, finance and government. The City
is also a major European City and one of the leading tourism
destinations in the Country.
Barcelona:
The 2nd largest City in Spain after Madrid, Barcelona holds
its own as one of the major cities in the Country being an important
tourism destination and an important centre for commerce. Barcelona
is the administrative capital of Catalonia and has a population
of about 1.6 million residents.
