A
popular holiday resort, St Ives Cornwall is a small town off the
Celtic Sea, situated in Cornwall County. The town initially developed
as a fishing village though at present its more popular for its
beaches, fishermen cottages and art. The town famed for its art
and is home to a number of art galleries and studios.
Art Galleries & Studios:
The Art Space Gallery: this is a small gallery managed by seven
local artists. It was opened in 2000.
The Penhaven Gallery: another gallery featuring contemporary
artwork and ceramics by a group of local artists.
The Cornerstone Gallery: this gallery displays works by a number
of English artists including paintings, ceramics, photography
and fine art.
The Alexandra Dickens Studio Gallery: this gallery is home to
works by local acclaimed artist Alexandra Dickens.
Other galleries are; the Belgrave Gallery, Penwith Galleries,
Plumbline Gallery and the Tate St Ives.
Popular beaches are: Porthgwidden, Porthminster, Harbour and
Porthmeor. The town also has a number of restaurants, cafes and
pubs.
