Tallinn
is the Capital and largest city in Estonia. The city is also home
to one of the Country’s key ports. Tallinn is a small city
with a population of about 400,000 which is a large proportion
of the Estonian population. The city has a healthy tourism industry
mainly because of its historic buildings and culture. The old town
zone of Tallinn and its buildings are listed as a world heritage
site by UNESCO.
• The Historic Centre of Tallinn: this area of Tallinn
is a popular tourist attraction and a testament to the City’s
rich history dating back to its founding in the 13th Century.
• Tallinn City Museum: dedicated to the history and development
of Tallinn. Other museums in the City include; the Historical
Museum, Estonian Photography Museum and the Maritime Museum.
Tallinn is also home to a respectable number of restaurants,
pubs and cafes. The city has a few nightclubs which are especially
busy on weekends, staying open till late.
Transport in Tallinn:
Tallinn has a modern transport network which features buses
and tram. The City is also served by the Tallinn International
airport which is the key airport in Estonia.
