The Thames River:

The Thames is probably England’s most famous river. The river runs through the City of London and boat cruises are a major feature of the City’s tourism circuit taking one past a number of attractions. Various cruise operators run a number of day and nighttime cruises on the river embarking from a number of docks along the river. The cruises are popular for wedding receptions, parties and the unique romantic evening dinner trips.

The River:

The Thames rises from Kemble flowing through Oxford, Reading and London, emptying into the North Sea.

Tourism on the Thames:

Apart from the boat cruises, you can take a walk along the banks of the river especially within London. Popular sites along the Thames are:

The Tower Bridge: situated next to the Tower of London, this is the most famous bridge in England and was opened in 1894. The bridge’s towers are used as exhibition and event venues and are open to the general public.
