Ukraine
obtained its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. The
Country is situated in Eastern Europe to the west of Russia
off the Black
Sea. Ukraine has a population of about 46.7 million people. The
Country is still struggling to establish stable democratic governance.
The 2004 elections are believed to have been
widely rigged and caused mass protests in the Country. Ukrainian
is the Country’s
national language though Russian is widely spoken. A country
rich in natural resources, Ukraine is a prominent agricultural
nation
producing; dairy products, beef, grains and vegetables. Major
industries in the Country include; machinery, automobiles, metals
and food
processing.
Kiev:
Kiev is the Capital and largest City of Ukraine. The City’s
attractions include; the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Open
Air Museum and Botanical Gardens. The city is also very entertaining
and has a number of restaurants, pubs and nightclubs.
Hotels in Kiev: there are a good number of hotels in Kiev. Popular
